I know, it's been a few weeks since I've posted anything. We put all the Remodeling 1070 plans on hold over the holidays, but now we're back and ready to get the ball rolling.
We are meeting with Matt of MH Contractors this Saturday, January 16th to make our choices for bathroom counter tops and hardwood floors for the master bedroom suite. The floor is going to be the tough decision, because whatever we pick will be carried through the rest of the house. Wood floors will be replacing all the carpeted areas: all bedrooms, hallway, dining room, study and family room.
We need to make sure we pick something we really like. A lot. Because there is going to be a whole lot of it.
While we are making our floor and counter top choices, we will also put the schedule in place to start Phase I of the remodeling. Hopefully, in just another week or two, we'll be able to post our first video and photos of the actual work in progress on the master suite. I will try to keep a safe distance from power tools. This is more of a public safety issue than anything else.
So, here's to hoping that the house starts getting torn up before the end of January. Matt has estimated 90-120 days for completion of the whole Remodeling 1070 project, so a January start date would have us all done and re-settled before the Houston summer weather hits.
I will post again after this Saturday and give you the updates on what we've picked and when the first wall will start coming down!
Happy 2010!!
