Spring Action at Remodeling 1070

Happy Sunday everyone,

We thought it was time for another Remodeling 1070 status update. The past few weeks have been a buzz of activity with teams working in both the master suite and the kitchen. Here's a progress report:

  • The cement floor in the master bathroom has been laid and level and is now ready for the tile installation, which will be happening this coming week. The tile guy will also work on the glass block in the master bath and bedroom.
  • The drywall has been installed over the panel doors in the master suite, so the walls are complete and ready for the next step.
  • The majority of the remaining paneling and cabinetry has been torn out of the kitchen.
  • The tile floor has been torn up in the kitchen. It will be replaced by hardwoods. The tile in the back entry way/utility room will remain.

Photographic evidence of all of the above is included below. Hopefully, as the tile and glass block work get done this week, we can provide another post at the end of the week to show the progress.

Thanks for staying tuned. There will be lots more to come this summer!

There is not much left in the kitchen. The brick is actually the back side of the chimney and fireplace, which are being removed.

Here you can see that the drywall around the pocket doors is finished.
Framework for the master bath cabinets.
The cutaway section of this wall in the master bathroom is where the glass block will be installed.
Finished drywall on mater bath pocket door and the cemented floor, all ready to tile!
Another great shot of the finished drywall around the pocket doors, this one being the main master closet. The doorway on the left will eventually be the master suite entrance off the den.
