Welcome to the online diary of our home renovation project: a journey to take our home from outdated to outstanding. The house was built in the mid-1960's. With the exception of minor adjustments, it stands as it was built 40 years ago, down to the miniature peach and orange tiles in the master bathroom. We hope to bring this house screaming into the 2000's. Every room will be refreshed in some way...all the way to the roof. Feel free to comment and share you own remodeling stories.

A bit of a closer look at the shower wall tile. It's white with a silver, iridescent finish that really picks up some interesting light and color from the surrounding.

Some of the chimney bricks put to good use behind the fence where the pool equipment resides.
And yes, we are back to having debris! This is just SOME of the chimney. There is more to be demolished.

Happy Sunday everyone,
We thought it was time for another Remodeling 1070 status update. The past few weeks have been a buzz of activity with teams working in both the master suite and the kitchen. Here's a progress report:
Photographic evidence of all of the above is included below. Hopefully, as the tile and glass block work get done this week, we can provide another post at the end of the week to show the progress.
Thanks for staying tuned. There will be lots more to come this summer!
There is not much left in the kitchen. The brick is actually the back side of the chimney and fireplace, which are being removed.
Here you can see that the drywall around the pocket doors is finished.
Framework for the master bath cabinets.
The cutaway section of this wall in the master bathroom is where the glass block will be installed.
Finished drywall on mater bath pocket door and the cemented floor, all ready to tile!
Another great shot of the finished drywall around the pocket doors, this one being the main master closet. The doorway on the left will eventually be the master suite entrance off the den.
